After quite some time away, I am back to trying to get my Neocities site in a state presentable enough to announce on social media sites that it is open. The main inspiration to leave my work woes behind and playing in here again was my idea to add a Recipes page. Not too long ago, I found an interesting recipe for making pork chile verde in a slow cooker. Miss KoKo made some alterations to it, and it turned out so incredily good that I really want to share it with the world.
The pork chile verde recipe is not fully written yet, and I also need to take a good photograph of it to get people's mouths drooling. For now, I have created and opened the Recipes page with one of my classics, KoHoSo's Biscuits and Gravy.
Overall, at the time I am writing this, I have added in a little more "bling" plus corrected some inconsistencies and downright errors. Aside from completing all of the pages, the big project remianing is to get all of the colors to display the way I want. Picking up from the entry below, Watefox might have fixed its problem of not refreshing CSS files in its cache, so maybe coloring can finally be attacked without so much hassle.
I am not certain how much other work will be done this weekend. I already know that the coming work week will be absolutely hellish, so it might be a bit before there is anything new to note. Just know that, if I do disappear for a while again, I am not abandoning Neocities. Especially these days, life is just rough sometimes and pure self care needs to take priority, especially when there are times that building a website can be quite frustrating.
2025-07-27 - Constructive Construction
I'm getting a decent amount done with various sections of this Neocities website and pieces of "bling" that I want to add to it. This work is not very organized as I keep thinking about or becoming inspired by this, that, and the other as I look for help and various pieces of inspiration.
One thing I am finding is that building a Neocities website using the Waterfox web browser might not be the best tool for the job. Watefox seems to be very stubborn in caching the CSS file, and clearing one's cache is a big pain in the ass to end up losing all logins and website settings.
Aside from being able to get all of the colors and spacing how I want it, the next big challenge is figuring out how I can get sortable tables to work here for the Radio and Top 100 pages. I have some coding for them, but I'm not sure yet how to put them in here so it will actually work. I might have to go make a post in the Neocities Community on Pillowfort about this.
Overall, it's probably going to be a while before I consider this site to be truly open. This is especially true as Miss KoKo and I are busy getting our house ready to be able to work from home four days a week. I'm sure you can understand how that savings in gasoline and stress is a higher priority.
This is still here just so I can test plain link colors. Neocities.

Many sites here on Neocities are based around a specific fandom. I am best known for my retro/vintage/Americana posts, and there will indeed be some of that here even though my regular posting of such material will remain on my "fort" on Pillowfort.
That being said, one of the main reasons I have decided to come to Neocities is to put some of the big project pages up that became unavailable once I made KoHoSo.us an inactive website. This includes my list of favorite online radio stations, my Top 100 songs list, and the extensive TV links page which is intended for one of my most obscure fandoms, follwing and critiquing local severe weather coverage.
For the somewhat regular content that will be put up on this home page, my plan at the moment is to have some of my longer and more personal writing posted here. For visual content, it's probably going to be my own personal photographs and scans of vintage ads.
Because I'm still getting comfortable with this template, this is still here to help me adjust the "inner" div sections.
Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their plumbers.

This is just more stuff to help me get this website just exactly perfect.
This restored gas station building is up in northern California. Proper posting and credit will be provided later.

Exciting, isn't it?
